Estatesearch to Walk 26.2 Miles for Macmillan Cancer Support
Walking 26.2 Miles to Support Macmillan Cancer Support
Since 2015, the Macmillan Mighty Hikers have raised £70 million to help people living with cancer. An Estatesearch team of six plus three friends will walk the Lake Districts Macmillan Mighty Hike challenge on 6 June with the aim of raising £2,250 for the charity.
Why Supporting Macmillan Matters to Estatesearch
Philip Nairn, CO Managing Director of Exizent, part of the Estatesearch Group, said:
“Collectively, we all know a family member or friend who has been touched by cancer. For me, it was my grandfather and my mother-in-law, so raising money and supporting Macmillan Cancer Support is deeply personal.
“As a company, we regularly work with those representing the bereaved, and many of those families will have been affected by cancer. Taking part in this walk is our way of giving back and, in some small way, completing that circle.”
Thames Half Marathon: A Second Team Steps Forward
A further team of five will also aim to complete the Macmillan Thames walk half marathon. Mandy Hawkins Head of Group Operations who will participate in the 13 mile London walk said:
“I feel privileged to have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference while doing something genuinely uplifting with colleagues, while supporting Macmillan. Like many families ours has felt the effects of cancer a number of times. More recently a wonderful Macmillan Nurse supported us from my husband’s initial diagnosis, talking us through treatment plans, explaining this to our children and being there to check in at every hospital visit. The compassionate, specialist care and practical support Macmillan offer is incomparable.”
